Large language models and generative AI are prompting wide interest and debate. Concerns exits about impact and risks, both current and future, including environmental impact. This seminar series, by contrast, is focussed on the scientific implications of generative AI. What, if anything, do these models tell us about human cognition? In what ways are they comparable to human cognition, and in what ways do they differ? What tools does cognitive science have for understanding them, and what new opportunities do they provide for understanding humans?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
