What an honour to present and discuss our preliminary&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gel.bbk.ac.uk\/research\/the-gems-project\/\" target=\"_blank\">GEMS<\/a>&nbsp;results with such eminent researchers and expert clinicians at the CDB!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An exciting 3-year PhD studentship is currently being advertised by GEL Lab co-director Dr Emma Meaburn to start in October 2022 &#8211; more details can be found <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gel.bbk.ac.uk\/joining-the-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GEL Lab student members Chloe and Laura are busy in the final stages of writing up their theses! The title of Chloe&#8217;s thesis is, &#8216;Using genetically informative family data to examine the early development of complex traits&#8217;. The title of Laura&#8217;s thesis is, &#8216;A dimensional investigation into psychotic experiences and negative symptoms in the community from adolescence to emerging adulthood&#8217;. Laura has recently uploaded a preprint of the final study of her PhD, which can be viewed <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/psyarxiv.com\/a4guk\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/psyarxiv.com\/a4guk\/\" target=\"_blank\">here <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of June, Professor Ronald took part in an Ernst Strungmann Forum. The topic of the forum was Genetic Risk and the forum involved a week of brainstorming the future of the field. Professor Ronald led Group 1 working together with Dr Joshua A. Gordon.
