The aim of the GEL lab is to identify the genetic and environmental causes that play a part in making people different, and how these causal processes work.  A large part of our research is focused on understanding the causes of infant development and later mental health and neurodevelopment. Our research includes projects on autism spectrum conditions, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, psychosis, and higher-level cognitive and educationally-relevant traits.

We employ a variety of approaches in our research including genetic, transcriptomic, and epigenetic studies, and work with clinical, twin, familial and general population-based samples.
